The POD PTBO is a pay-by-the-hour podcast and content studio located in the heart of downtown Peterborough, in the iconic Commerce Building. We’ve created a clean, professional space that’s designed to get you recording with zero friction.

 FAQs

  • You’ll get access to use the studio including a Sony FX30 camera (bring your own SD card) and a 16mm lens .

    The studio is professionally lit, you’ll have full control of the lighting

    Two SHURE podcast mics are setup and plugged into the Sony FX30 with XLR cables

    Theres also a TV on wheels if you want it in the video, it has a HDMI Cable connection and a USB-C to HDMI for connecting to an iPad or Phone.

  • An SD card is the only thing you’ll need if you plan on using the camera. A V60 or higher speed card is recommended.

  • The POD PTBO is located at 393 Water Street on the Third floor in Studio 6.

    Upon entering off Water street go up the stairs and turn right. Go through the door that says ‘Art’ on it and up the stairs.

    At the top of the stairs, take the left door and walk down the corridor, the Studio is the third door on the right but you’ll see the signs from here.

    On the left of the door is a lockbox, you’ll be supplied a code that holds the key to the door. Please make sure the key is returned this lockbox after your session is over.

  • The Desk and TV are on wheels, they can be moved. Please be mindful of cable management and if things are secured to the floor don’t try to move them.

    Please kindly return everything to it’s original position and leave the studio as you found it when you leave.

  • The POD PTBO is a self-serve studio — everything’s set up and ready for you to use

    Just walk in and do your thing. No setup help or tech support is provided on-site.

  • Not at all, feel free to bring you’re own recording equipment. The camera and tripod is moveable, you’ll just need to unplug everything (that said, please leave it how you found it upon entry when you’re finished)

  • The studio camera is a Sony FX30 — a professional-grade setup ideal for video podcasts and content creation.

    We recommend having some prior experience with this camera or bringing someone who does. The studio is self-serve, so hands-on instruction or operation isn’t included.

  • Absolutely. A Rodecaster is available for use in the space

  • Feel free to bring any additional cameras, tripods and other gear you may need.

  • The commerce building is pretty Iconic in downtown PTBO, unfortunately there is no AC as the building is historic. There are two windows fans to keep the air moving
